Ways of Stopping Industry Water Pollution

The world we live in today is largely industrialized, except of course for a few countries that are still in the developmental stages of capitalism. Whilst this growth in industrial capacity is a good sign of development it has come at a high cost indeed. As industries manufacture various products it is only natural that there be waste, toxic or non-toxic. Whatever the case is such waste products can end up in streams, rivers, dams and lakes. Industry water pollution is a threat to health in ways unimaginable. So how then do we stop it?
The best way to ensure that pollution of water bodies is brought to a halt is by monitoring water bodies. The different municipalities must come up with individuals whose job is to monitor rivers, lakes, seas as a way of detecting possible waste dumping. Recent studies have revealed that 30 percent of water pollution is a result of there not being a task force to watch over favorite dumping sites.
This problem is not exactly an inland reservoir problem because such reservoirs normally have rangers responsible for watching over the vital water resource. It is mainly on abandoned coastlines that dumping of waste normally occurs, resulting in the death of important sea life. Because coasts are far and wide it can be pretty hard to control illegal dumping. Cameras can be placed in obscure spots as a way of trying to trap perpetrators of water pollution.
Harsh laws for illegal waste disposal have been implemented in a number of states. But because of bribery such law enforcement agents end up abandoning their responsibilities, opting for a few hundred dollars just to keep their mouths shut. Instead, a special unit of undercover policemen and women must be deployed as a way of curbing bribery in instances where officials are well known for their uniforms.
In addition to this designated dumping sites must be erected with an ideal capacity to harbor all the industrial waste from industries. The only reason why water gets polluted is because there are not enough dumping sites. As a last minute resort industries must be made to create their own sites for dumping as new ones are built.
Public awareness of pollution should also be increased. As people begin to know of the possible consequences of their actions they will become more cautious. But until then all we can do is wait for television programs to do that for us.

  1. In order to bring into proper focus the significance of correct predictions in science, I offer at the start a short survey of the most celebrated cases, and it is not by chance that almost all of them come from the domain of astronomy. These cases are spectacular and, with one or two exceptions, are well known.
