As Morpheus said in the 'Matrix' 'There's something wrong--you don't know what it is, but it is there--like a splinter in your mind driving you mad. It's the world that's been pulled over your eyes to blind you from the truth.' The truth is simple: It's that humanity has been imprisoned in the mechanized matrix designed by our lesser brain.
Our brains have two hemispheres, right and left, each with distinctive functions that are meant to work in tandem. The left-brain is egocentric. It divides and separates and without regard to complex contexts, subtle connections or long-term consequences, its focus is short-term gain.
Its duality sorts existence into hierarchical slots of opposites: superior and inferior, physical and spiritual, black and white, friend or foe. Lacking comprehension of life's natural connections, it seeks to fix the world by its autocratic and fragmenting style: 'you're with us or against us,' 'survival of the fittest,' 'might equals right.' Pitting existence into 'us or them' breeds: Nazism, fascism, militarization, racism, sexism, xenophobia, homophobia, anti-environmentalism, and war.
The stratifying, myopic left-brain denies the fact of the unifying principle: that all of Creation is an inherently interwoven, interconnected, interdependent whole. Uni-verse means one metered poem or song. Cosmos means one unified, holistic whole. The unbreakable Natural Law of the Cosmos is order, balance, and equal return. What is done to a part is done to the whole. We cannot escape cause and consequence.
For example, prior to the nuclear fallout from Hiroshima, Nagasaki, from nuclear testing, and leakage from the nuclear plants, and the nuclear waste buried in land and at sea, there was no isotope strontium-90 outside of laboratories. Now it in inside every person and animal on earth. In addition, the billions of tons of Agent Orange, defoliants, depleted uranium, pesticides, herbicides, industrial pollution, automobile exhaust that are dumped into the environment, and the toxic specters that ghost from our landfills, haunt the entire eco-system, including our bodies. We are the environment. 3,000 Americans die from eco-related cancers each day. You, me, our loved ones are threatened by 500 disconnected, myopic men who control more wealth than 3 billion people on the planet, and have split us from our universally connected spirit. They steal from our natural spiritual estate, have rendered the planet incoherent and toxic, and are driving us into an abyss.
The ancient right brain's spiritual structure of monism is eco-centric. It is literally a sacred, miraculous bridge of light between the visible and invisible realms. Illuminating, creative, expansive, poetic and empathic, its view is to unify all existence based on context, compassion, caring, and cooperation. This is the brain of Golden Ages, for a new economy of eco-social entrepreneurs, and for the next 2,000 years.
The right brain is the intuitive translator of the inherent, pantheistic spirituality that is archetypal imprinted into the deepest fibers of our soul. This life-sanctifying covenant, billions of years old, is stamped into the DNA of our ancestral memory that gives us a hunger for reverential relationship to nature. The universality of this archetypal spirituality is depicted by the similar gods and goddesses, myths, folk stories, art, and images that are found in widely varying cultures throughout time.
The common lexicon of the cosmos, eternity, and our soul is symbol. We can read the elegant cave paintings of France from 38,000 years ago, or the stories that ancient Egyptians told with their art of 5,000 years ago, and they resonate because of the constant symbols of the underlying secret story of the cosmos. The astonishing beauty of ancient Golden Ages, their colossal architecture, philosophy, literature and their way of being, was in many ways richer and more radiant than our own, because their coherence flowed directly from this right-brain connected spirit.
Connected spirit illuminates the world; disconnected spirit devolves it. A statement amplified by the past 100 most warring and ecologically disastrous years from billions of years of global existence.
All around the globe today, from every hamlet to every high-rise, connected spirit is the quality we would, intelligently, most highly value and prize. It is the quintessential spirit of Renaissance. The only spirit that will save and evolve humanity, and enhance all life on the planet, today.
