Our world is too wrapped up in the material and as such, our spirits are dying of thirst, hunger and isolation. If we continue on this course of events without addressing the needs or requirements of our souls then suicide is not only going to increase steadily but actually may take a giant leap towards higher percentages of population dying at own volition.
Korea is the highest in the world with almost 26,000 killing themselves while France ranks about fifth. This tells us no corner of the world is free from this catastrophic disease on society and surely, no one is exempt from being connected to its tally either.
Here in South Tipperary death toll is up by a whopping twenty five percent on 2008 figures and four times as many males die than females. No matter the statistics or the story, they tell us this epidemic is a sign of the lack of sincerity on behalf of health authority organisations to ensure competent professionals will be available, let alone quality trained.
It is believed most suicides did not want to end their lives they just wanted the pain to stop, but if the medical profession cannot understand this pain then how can they relate and offer appropriate suggestions. Most families cannot or even do not want to understand this trauma and consequently traumas are unattended and suffering invites death as the primary solution.
From my own experiences, most medical professionals are book wise and while they have passed all the relevant exams required to practice in the mental health field bar one, they lack the emotional connection to understand. There is no study defining telepathic links with emotions but as each patient is unique, there is more to understanding the illness than prescribing pills. General practitioners should not be allowed to go anywhere near mental health patients unless they have an amazing acuity to empathize with the disease.
In fact if doctors spent more time urging people to drink more water while having sufficient salt in their food there would be fewer incidences of all illnesses, but then that would be too easy. Realtors talk about location, location, location and doctors talk about medication, medication and more medication then call the coroner if they misdiagnose with an oops. The days of relying on medicine is long past as the time is now here for real communication, but then that would probably hit the bottom line, profits.
It is quite arrogant really, for any mental health professional to assume they know everything there is to know about any patient if they are not objective in their approach and take time to become familiar with individuals under their care. The approach taken currently is co-mingling therapy between psychiatrist and psychologist, which is better than nothing, but is too vague to be effective for everyone.
Essentially, if the patient does not become part of the solution by investigating the vagaries of the disease and seek their own remedies to manage their health, success shall be minimal even restricted. To understand mental health one has to know how the brain works and then act accordingly.
Based on research by the esteemed F. Batmanghelidj M.D, 'it is not solid matter that regulates all functions of the body, water is the master regulator, and everything else is subservient.' With this in mind, let us increase our intake of water commensurate with half our body weight in ounces of water plus up to one-half spoon of sea-salt per day in our diet. Gradually increase from eight glasses upwards to familiarize the body with this hydration and your awareness of response as over supply is as bad as under supply.
If we had listened to God for the past few thousand years we would never have replaced water with soda, diet drinks or high fallutin' coffee. Approaches may arrive in many directions but let us not drift from natural remedies as the Bible has instructed us and then perhaps through the added benefits of meditation and spirituality less will seek the ultimate solution, suicide. God bless and enjoy the life your newly hydrated body shall introduce.
Thank you for your article. I always have to argue the importance of sea salt. It is frustrating that people are so unaware of what is real, what is good and what is simply not necessary. Sea salt along with Vitamin C, selenium and apples (including the seeds) all day long for nearly a year cured my lymes disease. The gods and goddesses guided me to the information and the apple idea came to me from the old saying "an apple a day". And boy howdy I have no pain today and feel better than ever. God bless all living creatures on this planet and be happy. Terese Brendlen
